If your company is organized as a corporation, you only need a business checking account. If you're running a sole proprietorship, you can use either a personal or a business checking account.
If you sell via mail order, telephone order, or the Internet, you don't want to risk incurring a chargeback by sending a product to a bogus address. The Address Verification System (AVS) allows you enter the customer’s home address and compares it to the address on file with their credit card issuer. If someone uses a stolen card to order things and has them shipped to a bogus address, AVS will help you discover this and save unwanted chargebacks and losses.
